  • My 17 year old sister, Bekah, just adores horses. I knew her favorite book was Black Beauty and the copy she owns was bought from a library sale and was badly worn. For her upcoming birthday I thought it would be nice to get her an 1877 first edition of Black Beauty, but found it nearly impossible to locate. I researched online, and several book stores. Finally, I found an elderly lady who had one in mint condition. It was her personal copy passed down from her grandmother. She wasn't really ready to give it up, but I told her about my sister and how much she loved this story. Everyone can be bought I suppose, and her price was $325. I better be Bekah's favorite sister now.
  • Are you looking for that rare out of print book? Well look no further. Just go to your search engine and type in rare books. You will find a number of online bookstores that deal in rare books. There are also local rare book retailers. I like to browse through the one down the road on my lunch break. I have found some really hard to find books there. And no matter what rare book I am looking for, if they don't have it, the owner always tries to find it for me. Now be cautious to not overpay for these rare books. Do your research before laying down the cash.
