  • Who knew that the old baseball cards would be worth tons of money someday? Just recently, when I was cleaning out the attic, I found my old baseball cards. I started looking online at their value, and I couldn't believe how much some of them were going for these days. I'm not super old, but just the ones from the 1960's were selling like hotcakes-and for hefty prices. I am still debating whether or not I want to sell some of my past. The money would be so nice though. At least I know that the value of some sports cards is pretty high-and so selling them is always an option.
  • It used to drive me crazy when my husband would bring home more sports memorabilia from his Saturday antique scavenger hunts. I couldn't tell you how many sports programs, baseball cards, autographed pictures, and even sports beer mugs we have lying around the house. But, I have to say, I guess my husband knew what he was buying. The other day, I was watching an antique appraisal show, and they were having a special on sports memorabilia. Some of the items were worth quite a bit of money. I was shocked. So, ladies, every time your husband brings home more sports stuff, just smile and nod. You never know, it may pay off some day!
  • Be it baseball, football, basketball, Hockey, heck I have all the cards. There has been a real down turn in sport cards interest among the youth and adults alike. Not sure what to attribute this too though. I see it like the stock market, it will have its highs and lows and tons of volatility. Hate the volatility part but that is what makes these cards worth so much and worth so little depending on the day. Sports cards have been a hallmark of the sport world. Getting them signed, trading them, and selling them is a past time that will not disappear.
  • My husband loves to watch football. He has gotten my son interested in the sport, and now my son enjoys collecting football cards. We do most of our shopping and trading online. There are a number of online stores that have oodles of football cards for purchase or trade. Just be careful not to overpay for a card. Some cards are worth more than others. Know which cards those are before making a purchase. When my husband and son are not watching football, they are on the computer looking for football cards.
