User Submitted Tips

  • Novelties are always fun to have and give as gifts. I like to shop for my novelties in bulk. I am a teacher and the kids love getting little novelty gifts now and then. I usually order from a catalog that I get in the mail. This particular catalog always has a large assortment of novelties from T-shirts, to hats, to key chains and more. The more I buy, the deeper the discount I get. I often ask my other teacher friends if they want to order as well. This allows us to split the shipping costs. Or, I will wait to order until I get a coupon in the mail offering free shipping.
  • I found this really neat little toy store the other day. It has the most unique gifts for children of all ages. Nothing in there was a name brand that I recognized, which made me realize that there are so many more options for gifts than just what is sold at these mega-mart places. These toys were more educational, and required more thought, but still stimulating and fun for the kids. They had these really neat inflatable balls that were solid, but soft to the touch, you could bounce them off of your kids and they would barely feel it. Also, when you placed your hands on the balls it would change colors. Science mixed with gym class, what a great combination.
  • Isn't life grand! I'm a dreamer of the novelty world. I love little products that seem like complete junk to other people. I have a whole boatload of novelty toilet seats. My most prized novelty item is the gear shifter of a 1957 Chevy. Other than that I have some pretty rad items that range from baseballs to laser pointers. I'm a novelty item mix master flash. I'll do the circuit to find my next item, I'm not afraid of the hunt. I tell ya though once I start collecting it doesn't stop. Yes, the house if full of items. People love to come to my house, so many conversation pieces it's unreal.
