User Submitted Tips

  • I recently got a part-time job at the mall. I love my new job, but I hate walking through the parking lot to my car at night after closing. I decided to take a self-defense class. Before I signed up, I called a couple different placed offering these types of classes. I asked questions, and found the one that best fits my needs, with a schedule that works well too. I signed up for a women's self defense class. I felt like this particular class geared for women would give me the best training and tips to defend myself in case of an emergency. And it did exactly that! I don't feel uncomfortable anymore walking to my car at night. I have been trained to defend myself against anyone.
  • My six-year-old son has been taking Tai Kwon Do for the past three years. He is almost a black belt, and I am very impressed with the things he has learned while in the martial arts class. It isn't just self-defense or competition that they teach these kiddos. My son is also learning about perseverance, integrity, self-confidence, and many other important life lessons. I think this is perfect for kids. I have been looking into my whole family joining martial arts classes. They actually offer times for family martial arts, where we can be in the same class together. I think these classes are a perfect way to learn respect for each other, while also getting exercise and learning self-defense skills.
  • My little girl just started her first martial arts class. Grand Master Chun has been absolutely wonderful with her. He teaches her patience and respect. But, the lesson doesn't end when we leave the class. My daughter must continue to show this patience and respect at home too, or she loses her belt rank. I love this approach that her Tae Kwon Do class takes. It makes her responsible. I think that the morals taught in her martial arts class are outstanding, and I would recommend the class to anyone.
