User Submitted Tips

  • My mom and I went to the embroidery shop looking for a design for my baby daughter's bibs. The shop had everything from animals to cartoons to family crests. I couldn't believe the variety. I was looking for Christmas embroidery patches like snowmen, Santa, or gingerbread men, and I found many to my liking. I made my daughter's bibs. and they turned out so cute and festive that I got the idea to make some more and give them as Christmas gifts. They were quite a big hit, I must say.
  • I enjoy embroidering, and I have made many embroidered items for myself and for gifts. I have embroidered pillowcases, towels, wall hangings and more. Now when I go to an embroidery shop, I prefer getting the embroidery kits. Sure there are plenty of patterns to choose from, but I like the kits. Everything you need is in the kit from the pattern to the thread. Some even come with needles. For anyone who is just learning to embroider, I highly recommend these kits. They also come with complete simple to follow instructions.
  • My grandmother taught me at a young age how to embroider. I have always thought of it as an art. However, I have noticed more and more embroidery shops having machines that can embroider for you. At first, I wasn't too happy about this. After all, my grandmother and I spent a lot of time embroidering. But, after I saw all of the neat things you could make, and all of the different designs, I soon wanted to buy my own embroidery machine-and so I saved up. Now, I make sweatshirts, towels, and all sorts of embroidered items. I still appreciate the art of hand embroidery, but the machine is so fast, and the products look great.
