I use decorative candles for simply that purpose: decorating. Rarely do I burn my candles (I'm too forgetful-it's just not a good idea.) There are so many types of decorative candles available. I have found decorative candles at home party shows. I have also searched the internet for some really great bargains on decorative candles. Home stores carry them as well. Since I don't burn them, safety isn't as much of an issue. So, I don't worry about getting the cheaper ones. Some have bling and jewels. And, I have recently stumbled across candles that have different aromatherapy scents. I love decorating my home with these. They add coziness, and the smell isn't too strong since I don't burn them.
Isn't it funny how the smell of something can bring up emotions in you without even trying? Every time I smell cinnamon I think of my mom's homemade snicker doodles around the holidays. I can't resist smelling every type of candle in the store, and more often than not,I leave with a headache - scent overload. My favorite to date is a tie between pumpkin spice and black cherry. I found this really cool candle that has a wood wick, and when it burns, it sounds like a fireplace crackling. I bought one for every lady in my family (a different scent for each one). I read an interesting fact that during a double blind study most men prefer the smell of vanilla to most any other smell. Maybe all women need to get a man is a delicious smelling candle.
